What To Do With Rings That No Longer Fit?

Have any of you ever asked yourself this? I know I have. I’m sure the first thing that popped into your head was “have them sized!” And this certainly is a fair response. In fact, I just sent a ring back to a designer which I purchased 40 pounds ago. (I can’t wait to start wearing it again!)

But while out and about recently, I came across another very clever solution. This lovely woman had strung some rings her husband had given her, which didn’t currently fit, onto a thick leather cord. Combined with the pearl pendant, it really makes a striking combination.

Even better — these rings, which are so meaningful to her, are now worn right next to her heart. I think it’s downright cool. Here’s another shot, closer view.

I think the heavy leather cord really shows them off, as opposed to putting them on a small-scale chain, where they wouldn’t be laid out as nicely. So…just wanted to share this with you. What do you think?

  1. I love this idea Amy. It’s a classic like wearing your boyfriends class ring on a chain. A great update you’ve shared. I also love seeing another way to wear your ring stack! And most new mom’s to be will love this idea as their digits plump!

  2. This is a fun everyday look. I think what makes this look coordinated is the rings are matte finish. Not sure how some shiny, some matte would appeal. LOVE the pearl pendant. The pearl with the leather cord makes he look cool. You’ve done it again Amy! xox

  3. I wear a slim green gold carved Art Nouveau ring on a chain along with a pear shaped morganite pendant and a rectangular shaped green tourmaline pendant. The ring is very tiny and no longer fits my pinky but it looks lovely with the pendants.

  4. Impressive! I had never thought like this. I have a ring which my husband bought for me for my birthday. The ring is very beautiful but my husband didn’t know my ring size and bought extra large ring for me as that was his first time when he bought something for me without any knowledge. That ring is very precious for me as it’s my husbands first gift so I would like to try your way to wear it.

    1. Glad you like the idea, Maribeth! I think it’s all a matter of personal preference regarding to the stones or not. Just fun to experiment and see what strikes your fancy. 🙂
